It appears to be a relatively straight forward program to use and should do what I was looking for.

I like the application is very light and easy. What i will like in the future is that maybe the app. can be more friendly with other formats so we can use in others app., like Google sketch up, Paint and others.

It's more than I thought it would be. Many subtle variations can be achieved rather quickly. For wood textures its comparable to a photoshop plug in I work with -I can achieve a nice texture (wood) with less fussing. One request though, plank size for wood flooring could be longer; its dizzying in my "old dance hall" renders, in fact its a bit irritating to save it out and tweak it with photoshop. Other than that, its fast and furious. Well done people! your work is appreciated.

I'm not sure what this software would normally be used for, but for my specific situation, it was perfect. I was surprised, and quite happy, to find that such a thing exists. I'm painting a table with faux wood grain, and I wanted to see what certain color combinations would look like. Thank you!

Wood Workshop
I'm a designer and involved in many multimedia projects, audio, video and 3D. Needing to apply wood textures to 3D models without wasting a lot of time is very important to me. Using Wood Workshop makes it quick and simple to make texture maps for LightWave. It installed and has worked without any problems. And the best part of all, it's free! Great application, keep up the good work.

Neat little program.
This program really can come in handy when you are too lazy to go through the long process of making a texture. This will really save you time that can be used to do more of the harder things in whatever project you are doing. Overall, this program is a time saver and is great that it is free.
Good job.

Making a frame border
I needed to make a window frame that looked like real wood for a web page. The view was through the window. I was able to make a good texture and ported it to Photoshop CS4 where I completed the project. I suspect that I will be using the program to create other picture frame borders for photos as well.
Thanks for the great program.

Amazing tool
When I was downloading this tool, I was preparing myself already for a dissapointment and another uninstall. I was very surprised by how easy this workshop is to use, and really impressed with the results. Something that could you hours to do in photoshop is done for you in seconds. Brilliant tool.

A suggestion
It could be possible to load any external wood type files? If that's not possible, I'd like to see a wider wood range

Wish i`d found this along time ago!
Seriously, finding this application was one of those wonderful moments, like when you found a new feature on a toy as a kid! It's a massive help to anyone working in 3D vis and has instantly become a part of my toolkit i'd never give up!

First port of call
I shall make this my first call when I need to render some timber furniture. Can't find any Oak though although I'm sure I can knit some from the kit provided!

Tutorial
It would be helpful to include more of a tutorial on the options--particularly those for defining rings--phase,things that are not obvious. By playing with the settings, I could build a fine texture, but it was largely by trial and error. I still don't "understand" the interface, e.g. I can't guess how I would go about making a piece of quarter-sawn red oak. I'd just start twiddling.

This is great!
This is a great program! Learning curve is a bit steep, but it is definitely easier than Adobe Photoshop Elements. Looks like a very versatile program! This program is great for designing textures for miniatures, dioramas, train set-ups, etc. The loaded textures provide a great deal a versatility.

Wood Workshop
This program is easy to use and doesn't even need reference to the help files, all in all, with some more work and extra features added it shall be one great piece of technology for artists and 3D modelers alike.

First time used
The program worked for exactly what it was described to do. I needed textures to render a scene for a cabinet piece I was designing. The large selection of textures was more than adequate for most projects. Excellent product overall.

Wood workshop is an excellent texturing tool
I'm a Graphic Designer & 3D visualiser and a part of my profile also involves making 3D renders (mostly architectural). Over the years I've been trying to search the net for appropriate textures for wood but most of these are either very low quality or not that good visually. After testing Wood Workshop, I feel I have more control and can also take out high res textures 3000x3000 pixel (max) which can be imported into other programs like photoshop. Even the textures created look too real. Thanks for such a great program.

Bitmap Images
You should be able to open bitmap files. It would really help me for my texture development.
